For adults and older studentsFind out how your mind actually works
Assessment, coaching and strategy for adults and older students who want to understand their own thinking and build a working life around it rather than against it.
You are capable, and something still does not add up
You do not need a diagnosis to be neurodivergent, and plenty of people reach their thirties, forties or sixties without one. These are the things people describe to me most often in a first session.
- You read something twice and still could not say what it said
- You know exactly what to write and cannot make yourself start
- Meetings leave you flattened in a way you cannot explain to anyone
- Your memory for detail is excellent and you lost your keys again
- You perform well and privately believe you are getting away with something
- Open-plan offices, strip lighting or background noise cost you more than they seem to cost others
- You were called bright but disorganised at school, and nobody looked further

What I offer individuals
Cognitive assessment
A structured assessment of how you process, remember, read and work. You receive a written report setting out your profile in plain language, with recommendations you can act on and share.
One to one coaching
Sessions built around what you are actually trying to do. Study, work, executive function, energy, or making sense of a recent diagnosis. Online or in person in the UAE.
Workplace strategy
What to ask your employer for, how to ask for it, and what to do when the answer is unhelpful. Includes a written summary of reasonable adjustments if you want one.
Study and exam support
For university students and adult learners. Reading strategy, note taking, revision that suits your memory rather than someone else's, and evidence for access arrangements.
Self-advocacy
Language for describing your own needs without apologising for them. This is often the part that changes the most for people.
Post-diagnosis sessions
A recent identification can be a relief and a grief at once. Space to work out what it means for you, and what you want to do with it.
What an assessment involves
People delay this because they do not know what they are agreeing to. Here is the whole of it.
Before
A short call, then a background questionnaire covering education, work and health history. You tell me what you want the assessment to answer.
During
Two to three hours of standardised tasks covering reading, writing, memory, processing speed and reasoning. Breaks whenever you want them. It is not an exam and you cannot fail it.
After
A feedback session where I talk you through the findings, followed by a written report. Your data is held under UK GDPR standards and shared with nobody without your written consent.
Questions people ask first
No. A great many neurodivergent people have no formal identification, and an assessment is often the first step toward understanding rather than something that comes after one. The recommendations I make come from the profile itself, so they are useful whether or not a label is ever attached.
Children from around age six, young people, and adults of any age. For children under six I will usually point you toward an early years specialist instead, and I am happy to suggest names.
Two to three hours of direct work, with breaks whenever they are wanted. Add a short call beforehand, a feedback session afterwards, and around two weeks for the written report to reach you.
Both. Coaching, consultancy and corporate training work well online and I have clients across several time zones. Some formal assessments are better carried out in person, and I will tell you at the outset which applies in your case.
Nikki Mitchell LLC is registered in SHAMS Free Zone in the UAE, at First Floor, Sharjah Media City, Al Bataeh, Sharjah, UAE. In-person work takes place across the UAE, and online work goes anywhere.
Individual assessment and coaching are charged at fixed published rates, which I will send you in writing before anything is booked. Corporate work is quoted per engagement, because the scope varies enormously. The first conversation costs nothing in every case.
Assessment data is held under UK GDPR standards. Nothing is shared with a school, an employer or anyone else without your written consent, and you can ask for your data to be deleted at any point. Reports belong to you.
Initial conversations are usually available within a week. Assessment appointments depend on the time of year, and the period before examination entry deadlines is the busiest. If you are working toward a deadline, say so in your first message.
Start with a conversation
No assessment, no commitment. Just a chance to say what is going on and hear what the options are.
